Dr Veronica Barassi is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Media, Communications and Cultural Studies at Goldsmiths University of London. Her research focuses on the anthropological and social impact of data technologies and artificial intelligence. Her work has appeared on top ranked international journals and she is the author of Activism on the Web: Everyday Struggles against Digital Capitalism (2015). Her most recent project is titled Child | Data | Citizen and funded by the British Academy. Her forthcoming book Child | Data | Citizen, under contract with MIT Press, explores key questions on data rights, algorithmic inaccuracy, and bias.
